Jamming With Pearl Jam

Never have I met anyone so obsessed with PEARL JAM than a friend of mine from home.  For as long as I've known him I can honestly say that few conversations have taken place without a reference to P.J. in some way or another.
About 6 years ago, before having listened to any of their songs, my dad brought me to one of their concerts.  Seeing Eddie Vedder singing "Alive" on stage with a Canadian flag wrapped around him was so captivating.  The passion that he portrays in his music is so riveting that you can't help but also feel some of that love and devotion felt so enthusiastically by my friend.
Ever since that concert I have been a big fan of Pearl Jam and it makes me sad to say that i will be missing the concert tonight in Hamilton, Ontario. But of course, my Pearl Jam-loving friend will be there, and will find any way that he can to be as close to the stage as humanly possible.

Here is one of my favourite songs:

Support Local Music

When I was growing up my dad always told me to support local music talent because not only do they deserve to get noticed and be successful but also you get the chance to see some great shows up close before you're only able to see them at a big venue.

Many well known musicians come from my hometown of Hamilton, Ontario.  Among them would be Blackie and the Rodeo Kings, Teenage Head, and more recently known, the Arkells.  The Arkells signed their first record deal in 2006 and went on to create the album "Jackson Sqaure" (which happens to be the name of a mall in Hamilton) which sky rocketed them to stardom.  I was lucky enough to see them play in a small venue in Hamilton a few years ago and it was a fantastic show.  Below is a song from their soon to be released second album "Michigan Left".

Happy To Announce

Florence and the Machine will be releasing a new album!
CEREMONIALS- OCT 31 2011
Lungs will be a tough act to follow, but lets always hope for the best.

van-van-van-van morrison

I tend to find I go through intense phases with musicians I'm interested in where I listen to them non-stop.  Lately I've had a pretty major obsession with Van Morrison.  I have officially declared "Gloria" to be the happiest song I've ever heard and it will always change my mood for the better.
Unfortunately, it seems to be an ongoing problem where all V.M. CDs that i own skip. This tends to cause a problem for me when Gloria starts to be spelt out multiple times slightly causing the song to lose some of its light-hearted goodness..
Luckily i have found a version that does NOT skip and posted it. Listen to it, you won't regret it!
